The Bshirt is a Social Business founded by two mums, with profits from the sale of Bshirts being donated to causes that support and aid women to breastfeed. We run campaigns where Bshirts are donated to women who are statistically less likely to breastfeed and who are struggling with feeding in public.
Last year, we donated over 200 Bshirts to help and support breastfeeding mothers in not just the UK but also overseas and we also raised over £500 to support valuable causes.
During 2018 we sent 200 Bshirts to Greece, where they were distributed among mothers in need at refugee camps. Women in these camps live in difficult conditions with little to no financial backing. We gave these Bshirts to offer some support to these ladies and to encourage them on their very challenging breastfeeding journeys.
Amelia Sommers, a Dance Movement Psychotherapist & Doula and Hope Plumb, a Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor & Doula begin to question how their skills can be used to benefit isolated and vulnerable women during pregnancy, birth and post birth. After discovering their mutual interests they decide that the best way forward is to set up a health and well-being charity for perinatal women in Birmingham. Offering their skills to women that need them the most but cannot possibly afford to pay for them.
Barnados Children's Charity
Barnardo's protect and support the UK’s most vulnerable children. They help bring out the best in them – no matter who they are or what they have been through. In 2019, Bshirt donated over £850 worth of Bshirts to this incredible charity.
Baby Bank Network
The Baby Bank Network operates across Bristol and Exeter to provide pre-loved baby essentials to those in need. Established in early 2018, Exeter is a voluntary organisation supporting mothers in Devon. Our closest branch of the Baby Bank Network, last year we donated 20 Bshirts the the Exeter Baby Bank.
Pink Ribbon Foundation
The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a fantastic grant making trust. It's mission is to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, have been affected by breast cancer. They also support those who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer and its early detection and treatment. We donated £550 to this valuable cause in 2018.
